[Rhodes22-list] To Deploy & Board An Inflatable from a Rhode

Caesar,

We are new this season to the Rhodes 22 ourselves. We bought an inflatable
from Sea Eagle - not an expensive one so it has an inflatable bottom, not a
hard bottom. My wife and I had no difficulty getting in and out of it
by looping a line from both bow and stern of the inflatable to the winch on
the Rhodes and then stepping from the cockpit to the center of the
inflatable. We found this easier than the stern even though the freeboard
is a little greater here - didn't have to contend with the stern rail this
way. Never a problem and never did we ship any water into the dinghy. Our
inflatable is 8 feet long, so we inflate it on the foredeck. The inflatable
proved to be a great help in keeping the hull clean. Our boat is in a slip
at Solomons in Maryland and during the summer we found it helpful to go
around the boat about once a week with a brush and cleaning off the
waterline from the inflatable - with the brush on an extension I can reach
all the way to the keel.

Can't help you with the GPS question - we don't have one yet

Dan Johnson
