Jim said, "Taking Pop-Shots from the outside is not being part of the war."
Jim also said, "Most of your message was about an event that happened "about
a year ago.". Our new president had no control of that situation."

Obama has made the past situation relevant by publically saying he wanted to
close Gitmo within a year.

With past detainees who were returned to various countries there is a
documented recidivism rate of about 10%.

So where are the current detainees going? Understand that these for the
most part are more problematic that many that were released in the past.

The two places that they are mentioning are in USA. They are Fort
Leavenworth, Kansas and Charleston, South Carolina. I do not want them in
Charleston, South Carolina.

However, once they are inside USA then the rules of detainment change. Are
the eligible for U. S. Citizenship? If yes, will they be able to vote? Who
is going to pay for all the litigation involved? Will you volunteer?

As you are aware this forum is left leaning. A small minority who are not
left leaning will not post publically. I have received several back channel
comments about my post.

And some of the majority on this forum commented back channel: “Obama kept
his promise. Good job”

As you can imagine, I do not agree with the above, except the concept of
keeping his word.

Rather, I think that when you are dealing with evil people. There is a
better method of dealing with evil. I agree with the other comments that I
received directly. Such as, “Summarily shooting them? Gets my vote.” I
would point out that this method was endorsed by other Rhodies.

Jim said, “(he) should use history to make the best decisions for the
future.” Yes, Yes, he should look at how General Black Jack Pershing
handled an Islamic resurrection in the Philippines early in the 20th
Century. He captured 50 of the Islamic radicals and lined up 49 of the 50.
He had his men dip bullets into pigs’ blood and shot them. He let the one
go to tell others how he treated Islamic Resurrectionist.

So that is what we should do in Gitmo. Only we should do it on TV and
broadcast it worldwide.

It is important to understand those who have looked evil in the eye, those
who have experienced terrorist, who have met those driven by malevolence.
Most Americans cannot conprehend that some people are that crue. Most
Americans are good people. But not all people are good people, not all are
your fellow Americans.
