[Rhodes22-list] Changing line on GBI furler

Claude:

By the way, I think there are actually 4 plastic pieces that unscrew
from each other and/or the furler barrel. Anyhow, you will need to
get all the black plastic bottom parts off the furler barrel to get up
inside it. The knot is a tight fit in the tube because the forestay
runs in there with it. But if you work with it, you will be able to
get to the knot and pull it out.

David;

I think we have the same furler. I got a good look at the furler drum today
while the sail was deployed, and it fits the description you gave of yours.

Your instructions for changing the line are quite thorough and the job
doesn't sound too daunting. I can probably find a friend who will work for
a six-pack.

Thanks much for your response--I'll let you know how it turns out.

Claude
