Cool to see progress on this front. I had no idea. My occasional long
trips will require me to stick with gasoline for the time being, but I'll be
watching. I would love to switch to something quiet for that 10-minute
motor out to the lake.
I wish I had the nerve and the skill to sail in and out, like Stan does. I
bet I could do it. I used to sail into my slip at a different marina, but
my current dock requires me to do a lot of turns through the wind.

Lou,
Placing two AGM batteries in the lazzerette is to much weigh aft. I would
opt for placing them under the V berth, keeping the weight forward where the
Rhodes likes it best. There is plenty of room for two batteries and with a
shoe horn you might be able to fit a third one in there.

Ive been following this evolution for a few months now. Torqueedo
may be one of the few that have an 8hp output
with their CRUISE R system where you supply two 12V batteries in
series for power. The price is considerable at almost $2600. just for
the OB. I would go with AGMs mounted on either side of the R22 laz
but prices WILL fall.
RE-E_POWER.com has their inboard power module which you can mount
infront of the rudder aft of the center drain for only $2000.
They rate that module at 7-9hp and have a passive recharging system
as well.
Im waiting for prices to come down to $1500. for the motor alone
capable of 8hp before I invest in this change.
