I took my drill and dremel to the mooring this afternoon.  Made two
holes in
the
cabin before I really understood how the chainplates are attached.  I
have
enclosed
a picture of the 2" (or so) square that I cut out to remove the rotten
plywood.

At the moment my plan is to make a "temporary" repair by drilling
another
hole
in the chainplate through to the cabin roof.  I will fill the open area
with
some G-10
(epoxy fiberglass) scrap that I should be able to find and epoxy that in
above the
chainplate and anchor the fiberglass through the hole in the chainplate
and
G-10
 to a plate on the cabin roof.  I will thread some holes in the G-10
which
will
allow me to screw in a cover plate. I will try to make a clean repair
next
spring.
