Rick,
I'm off the Potomac River in the Northern Neck of VA....
Doctoring a photo, unless you're r-e-a-l-l-y good in Photoshop, always looks r-e-a-l-l-y bad. 
We have some really good photos that folks have taken & that others have taken of members' boats.....they just don't have a anything 'Christmas-y' about them....but I don;t think that's always necessary....too trite.....for example, here is the photo (& subsequent card) used by the marina last year....they sent out 500 of these in 5x7 format...the addition of the line of the song makes it suitable......

Where are you located?  I'm on Lake Erie in Cleveland.  Or, how about
