Correct is right.
I am surprised that you can raise and lower the mast without using the chain extension on the forward lowers.

Hi
Can someone with a mast raising system that has the extension pieces for
two of the stays refresh my memory. I think the inside aft stays go to
the winch pole. and the inside forward gets the extensions and are
connected to the forward inside chain plates to keep the lateral
movement to a minimum. Is that correct? I usually don't use the
extensions with calm conditions.
