On our recent trip to Florida we finally used the solar shower. I bought a 4 gallon (smallest I could find) after my prior 6 gallon model, that was never used, finally came apart while full in the back seat of my 4Runner.
Anyway, the new 4 gal model was great. We left it in the sun for an hour and the water temp hit 100 degrees. Then I pulled it up using a spare halyard on the mast and bungied it to the furled headsail about six feet high. Then both my wife and I were able to rinse off on the foredeck and it was great after a long day on the water while anchored out. Amazingly it was warm enough for Sheila which is pretty unusual. We also used hardly any water. Probably enough for 3-4 showers each in just 4 gallons. Never used it again on the trip because we never anchored out again because my POS dinghy leaked...
