[Rhodes22-list] Speaking of weather.

Rummy,
Yeah, 220 feet is a challenge. I've got a small 16hp Yanmar tractor
that should be able to handle it. It's bigger than my riding mower but
still not big enough for any serious land disturbance. I rented a 60hp
tractor from a buddy of mine and regarded and dug out ditchlines a
couple of weeks ago. The powergrader might be what I need to maintain
it now. - rob

Rob,
Go to their web site and order the DVD. It will explain everything. I
found
I was looking for other driveways to do. The more I did it the better I
became at it. 220 feet is quite a rise. It will take quite a few horses
to
drag the DR powergrader behind it. I found going uphill almost
impossible
with my John Deere X500. It's the smallest tractor they make, but it
suits my
needs perfectly.

Rummy,
Might give it a try. My driveway is twice yours, (1/4 mile and rises
220
in elevation). Just spent a week regrading with a rented tractor (mine
didn't have enough ass). thanks for the tip. - rob

Today was to be the day that Rum Runner gets her coat of paint.
Unfortunately mother nature didn't cooperate. With humidity levels in
the
mid 80's it
was not a good day to paint. Hopefully we will dry out and cool off a
little for a day or more so that the deed can be accomplished. I was
hoping to
be able to post a photo of the new hull, but you all will have to wait
a
little longer.
In case anyone on the list has a gravel driveway that's as long as mine
(600 feet) you might be interested to know that the DR Power Grater
really
works. I spent two hours today dragging the thing behind the John Deere
and
the driveway looks superb. A load of gravel to top it off and I'll be
good
for quite a while. I was reluctant to spend the money on it, but I
couldn't
find a single negative comment anywhere and now I know why. The darn
thing
works as advertised. Our driveway was a real nightmare before today.
Now
it's user friendly.
Rummy
