Rod,I guess I am at the opposite end of the world by our standards. We probably have a longer season down here in southern Wis.
Smooth Sailing.

Hello
140 miles, Try 1598 miles from Wisconsin. It is a beautiful drive to
get there. We just got back with our recycled 1987 boat from Stan. He
does a wonderful job. New paint up and down, new galley, solar panels.
power motor lift, bimini. mew cabin door, and a GPS/fish locator.
For anyone interested Stan had a beautiful newer recycled boat that
someone had done but went to a new boat. The recycled is pretty loaded
and ready to go, I think.

As far as the trailer, We have a dual axel Triad. It tows beautifully
and when the boat is on the trailer one can walk around on the boat it
does not tip if it isn't blocked up. I always thought it would be safer
if a flat tire happens.
Check with Stan, he might have a used one will get you what you need.
And a lot farther for us Njutmegers to get spare parts...

Sounds like Stan is really trying to build a one-stop-shop down in NC!
Although it is actually not that close, about 140 miles. Still, a lot
less
driving for Elton to get the trailers.

Ron,
You have to purchase it through Stan, but I believe arrangements can
be
made
to pick it up from the factory to avoid the shipping costs.

Joe,
Although the R-22 trailer is made by Triad in CT it is my
understanding
that
the only place you can get the trailer completely set-up for the
R-22
is
from Stan at General Boat.

Hi Alex,
I have a Rhodes 22 on Lake Candlewood in New Faifield Ct. if you
want
to
get the factory trailer for your boat, they are made in New
Milford
Ct.
there are many features of the factory trailer that are worth
having.
Cheers

Hello everyone,
I have been looking for a Rhodes 22 since I moved from Florida to
Connecticut last month, and left my two old sailboats behind. I
saw
it
in
the Sailboat owners survey, where it took First place:
http://s.sailboatowners.com/index.php?option=com_rank&Itemid=80
http://s.sailboatowners.com/index.php?option=com_rank&Itemid=80
I got the free Rhodes from craigslist, and have been working on
getting
my
trailer up from Florida to pick it up. I have a friend who just
moved
the
trailer up to Ohio for me, about 600 miles closer, perhaps we
will
get
the
trailer this weekend and pick up the Rhodes soon after.
Everything
I
have
read makes me think this will be a perfect sailboat for our
family.
My
wife and I have a 2 year old girl and a boy who will turn five in
June.
We
are looking forward to going cruising up here in the Hartford, Ct
area.
Since we just arrived, I know nothing about the area and sailing
here.
I
think this boat will need a good bit of work to make it ready, I
am
sure
I
will be asking this list for help.
Thanks in advance,
Alex McKenna
