[Rhodes22-list] Sunday sail

Great site for knot illustrations. My Dad taught me the bowline knot, he is left handed so that's how I learned. "snake comes up out of the hole, wraps around the tree and then goes back down the hole". What is the most common non permanent way to tie a docking line to a post? The Clove Hitch looks too likely to come undone? I usually end up putting in several half hitches until I think it won't come undone.

During our trip I had the need to tie a bowline knot and it did knot come
easy. Alice just sent me this site:

In addition to easy-to-learn knot tying, it has some other cool things I
thought some of you might find interesting.

We were delivering Beats Prozac through Kent Narrows to a marina where
she'll be dry-docked for the winter. No sailing but with the great weather
and company it was a most enjoyable day. We were prepared for a strong
current through the Narrows and weren't disappointed. While waiting for the
bridge to open we were lightly motoring into the current yet still going
backwards. I was glad Alice had a big 9.9 outboard on her boat.

My boat isn't as new or pristine as Alice's, but Stan told me that red hulls
are faster:

Don't know about rum-fueled yellow hulls.
