[Rhodes22-list] Raymarine Tillerpilot Extensions

I am purchasing a Raymarine ST1000 for my boat.  I can tell from the archives that I'll need extensions, but there is no definitive info as to the exact size. (I've seen anywhere from 8" to 10+")  I plan on mounting it on top of the starboard gunwale with the 1" flange beneath the tiller similar to Bill Wickman's.  Can anyone tell me what size extension(s) they have used?
