Chris,
The plywood in our 1991 is on the benches including the step just
below the companionway and the bulkhead separating the main cabin
from the head. The plywood has a paper thin layer that is imitation
wood grain. Because it's not real wood we've always just cleaned it
with any old household cleaner. I don't think there is any cleaning
product that would improve its looks. We did varnish the table (cabin
berth insert) and that looks really good. We just clean that with a
damp cloth with a tiny bit of soap if necessary. Our step is starting
to show a bit of wear. We may look for some sort of non-skid
varnish-like product to put on that. Regular varnish would be too
slippery if it got wet.
We also have teak rails on the galley counter. That's what I'm going
to try to spiff up along with the compression post under the mast.
Not sure about the murphey's.
