Geoff,

I like the Precision 23 that is popular along the SW coast of FL.  Like the
R22, it has nice cockpit, though deeper and not as wide with a bridge deck
to the companionway.  Pretty much the same shoal keel with integral
centerboard idea.

The P23 is a competitive racer whereas the R22 is a very comfortable, easy
to sail cruiser with safety a big factor.  It all depends on how you intend
to use the boat.
