Thanks for the replies everyone.
Yes, they would be simple to fabricate - 
I do have a milling machine, lathe, and TIG welder so that may be the best route 
if Stan no longer has them.

Orin,
      As I recall, Stan had them custom made.  I was redoing my railings 30 
years ago, and Stan got me those cool fittings.  If they are no longer available 
they shouldn't be too hard to fabricate.
