Eric,
I reinforce that upper section of the sail attached sleeve with dacron and  
set a solid brass grommet . When this sleeve passes over the tube, a ss 
screw of  appropriate size with a ss washer attaches it to the upper tube.

Does  anyone have a picture of the way the genoa is connected to the top of 
the  furling tube? It is the old GBI tube style. I'm looking at getting a 
new sail  and need this for the specs. I'm pretty sure it's screwed in, but 
would like  to be able to show them how it's connected. I can't get a good 
enough pic  because the mast is up.
