I may have mentioned before that my BF restores antique cars (Austin Healeys, Cords, Morgans, Rolls...complete frame-off restorations in which he makes  whatever is missing or rusted. He also has one car  ...forget what it is...that has a wooden frame....but most of it has rotted or missing so he makes the parts.....He has restored several of these Chris Crafts...both are absolutely gorgeous....distinctive and unique. Two are still in the area....You can tell them from a mile off in the water.....(Another guy has let his deteriorate again...)

A buddy of mine is renting a lake house that is owned by some rich doctor who has a hobby collecting Chris Craft boats.  He's got maybe 6 of them, one probably a 40 footer.  They are all under roof, but all of them have gone to hell.  What a shame.

Well, since the list has been quiet I thought I'd throw this at the group.  
I went with some friends Tuesday to look at a 1950's vintage all wood 
sailboat  that someone was willing to give away. All we knew is that it was 35 
feet long  and needing restoration. Unfortunately, the hull is beyond 
restoring and should  probably be stripped of any and all hardware and burned. It's 
always sad to see  a boat deteriorate from neglect like this one has. I 
expressed interest in the  wooden mast if it is ever found.
