Bob,
Attached are some pictures. It looks to have more usable space than the old
icebox. Not twice as big, but definitely bigger.
Actual model number is: CR0065 NV567
It is 2.3 cu ft. and the power consumption is 0.7/2.7 (average/maximum).
This is available at http://sailorsams.com but I found it for less at a
local dealer.
Will definitely report on the performance once the fall comes and I am back
to sailing again.

about it and considering for some time and the last week-long cruise we went
on convinced me. Reading the archives, some had recommended the Indel Marine
Isotherm refrigerator but knowing nothing about them or the subject in
general I really did not have a clue. Researched it quite a bit on the
internet, talked to several (so-called) pros and was still unsure. Finally
found a guy in Savannah who specializes in marine refrigeration - that is
all he does! Talked with him and he agreed that the Isotherm was a good,
high quality choice. Compared to some competing brands that cost less, he
said the Isotherm is a great unit: reliable, energy efficient etc. So he
came to look at the boat and said "piece of cake" about the install. He got
the unit and installed it this week with no problem at all. Took him 2
hours, but then he knew what he was doing.

exact model number. It was $892 delivered and fits perfectly where the old
icebox was. This was the largest model that fit the dimensions and I will
also post some pictures later if you want to see it. This little fridge also
has a small freezer unit. It is set up to run off the batteries (two group
27) when you flip the switch and if you plug into shore power it will run
off of that by just turning off the switch.

because it is not sailing season here in south Georgia. The boat is on the
trailer until mid-September because it is just too hot to sail down here
now. Summer is power boat season. However, I did keep the fridge running off
the batteries for about 4 hours and I was amazed becuase the battery volt
meter started on 12.5 volts and it never moved. Of course I have two solar
panels and this was during the day so maybe at night it would drain them
more-I don't know. But that was encouraging because the fridge and freezer
were very cold and the battery charge did not change in 4 hours.

Todd, Rick,
I have attached pictures of the type of drum that I have and you can see the
problem with my bottom drum - it is broken in three places. The pieces are
still attached and it still works but it does make me uncomfortable that
such a crucial piece of equipment is broken. Do you guys (or anyone else)
have just the bottom drum? If so, I can remove this and replace with a new
one.
Thanks for your help.

Bob K: Many thanks. We got spoiled during the five years between our '86
R22 and our '10 R22 with the refrigeration on the '84 Tartan 37. Nice to
just reach in and grab a cold drink without worrying about ice.
Will look forward to hearing how she does for you next season. Did you
increase battery power? How many batteries are you using?

Bob,
While I haven't seen many GB furlers, I have never seen a plastic one like
yours. All I have seen were aluminum.

Todd, Rick,
I have attached pictures of the type of drum that I have and you can see the
problem with my bottom drum - it is broken in three places. The pieces are
still attached and it still works but it does make me uncomfortable that
such a
crucial piece of equipment is broken. Do you guys (or anyone else) have
just
the bottom drum? If so, I can remove this and replace with a new one.
Thanks for your help.

Bob ,
I gave away last year a GB furler which had two discs welded on to the base
of the tube. I do not believe that the recipient is currently utilizing
it ... If you are interested , he lives on Long Island , NY. I could ask
him
if .... that is if you are interested? They are items that are not easily
shipped and not easily supported for transport. Perhaps you could have a
local welding shop , cut out two aluminum discs and weld them on . If you
are interested I could measure the distance /diameter of the ones on my
Rhodes 22.
Good Luck .

Bob,
I have two group 27 batteries - they are the inexpensive ones from Wal-Mart
and are around 4 years old. They are hooked up in series and I have two
solar panels charging them. In addition, when the motor is running they are
being charged. Will have to see how much drain the fridge causes on them
and if it is an issue I may replace these with AGM batteries.

about it and considering for some time and the last week-long cruise we went
on convinced me.
Took him 2
hours, but then he knew what he was doing.
> >

the exact model number. It was $892 delivered and fits perfectly where the
old icebox was. This was the largest model that fit the dimensions and I
will also post some pictures later if you want to see it. This little fridge
also has a small freezer unit. It is set up to run off the batteries (two
group 27) when you flip the switch and if you plug into shore power it will
run off of that by just turning off the switch.
> >
> >
> >
> > The problem is that I really can't give anyone a review as to how it
works because it is not sailing season here in south Georgia. The boat is on
the trailer until mid-September because it is just too hot to sail down here

Bob,
I posted earlier on the problem of shipping such a long unsupported tube by
any means. I will expand on this as it will make your solution simpler. It
will be a simple matter to ship whatever furler drum available with 12-24"
of the related furling tube you choose. An identical section of your
damaged drum/tube can be removed from your furler, and an aluminum tube can
be used to splice the shipped tube/drum with your shortened tube
top-section. In order to fix the splice so it cannot twist, therefore
damaging the sail and furling function, validate that the OD of both the new
section and your top tube section are the same (they should be) and fix the
joints with a splicetube with welds or stainless screws. The splice tube,
with an ID closely matching the OD of the tubes to be joined, would be at
least 24", with 12" extending above and 12" below the joint of the tubes.
Let me know how this is going, and bueno suerte, amigo!

Bob,
My drum is made from plastic material like yours, but it is donut shaped and
not attached with screws like yours. It might be easier to make a
replacement on your own.
