Geoff,
Sharon and I went through the very same gyrations trying to decide 
between MSD and porta potti.  We went with the porta potti and have been 
happy with our choice.  Hauling the thing in and out of the boat is a 
minor nuisance but nothing compared to the joy of disassembling an MSD 
and associated plumbing when things go wronb.  Also, finding a pumping 
station when you need one may not always be easy, but every marina will 
have a toilet to dump the potti.
