Scientists have been working very hard to prepare a paint that can be 
applied to buildings that, when exposed to sunlight, generates
electricity. 
In this manner all outdoor painted surfaces could become part of the
"grid." 
I think that you may be on to something if you can turn bird shit into
solar 
energy generation, thus avoiding the paint application step.  Now, about
the 
semiconducting properties of bird shit ...
