The inflow was about 3 to 4 gallons an hour. I launched on Saturday morning
and returned Sunday to put on running rigging but there was 3 inches of
water above the floor in the cabin. After an hour of pumping, I could tell
it wasn't a big hole but not good. Returned home to get trailer and after 2
hours another 5 buckets of water had come in. Pulling the boat was going to
happen. On the hard, draining from the centerboard trunk has continued from
Sunday afternoon to this evening (Wed.). Water appears to be seeping thru
the trunk at about the level of the ballast or slightly lower. I can see
some slight inward bowing of the trunk wall in only a couple of spots. There
is still a lot of clearance from the trunk wall to the centerboard. Has
anyone repaired a condition like this? I have looked at the excellent
write-up Lou put out and hope it doesn't need to go to that level. Or do I
just have to start cutting away the trunk inner liner to know whats going to
be required? I have pictures I will try to attach that show water seeping
thru the wall in almost 60% of circumference of the trunk, at about the
level of the ballast. How could the fiberglass suddenly become porous?
