Chris,
"I also make it a point to get out in extreme wind and sea conditions
during small craft warnings to keep the bottom in good shape."
It would also cause extreme clenching which would keep my bottom in good
shape too.

My new boat came with a good coat of Trinidad petit last year and held
up well in the Chesapeake bay. I hauled out and spent the winter on
jack stands. Gave the bottom a light sanding and applied a new gallon
of the same Trinidad just before the spring launch. I don't think the
Trinidad works as well for trailer sailing but it does work well for
seasonal protection in the water slip. I also make it a point to get
out in extreme wind and sea conditions during small craft warnings to
keep the bottom in good shape. Keeps the barnacles from growing under
my feet too.

Pettit Trinidad is recommended for trailer sailing. You want a paint
described as "multi season" most of which are ablative (soft) paint.
Most hard paints lose antifouling ability when out of the water for an
extended period.
