[Rhodes22-list] motor position up or down

I am in a brackish water wet slip and I keep mine in the up position so that
the shaft remains completely dry. I also cover the motor head to protect it
from the unrelenting Gulf Shores sun. I can't imagine a wet slip that was so
rough as to put undue stress on the system (Yamaha 9.9 4-stroke).
I've also had problems with inadvertently triggering the remote. A couple of
times this occurred while the motor was lashed to the stern pulpit for
trailering. I have found the remote to be more of a problem than a
convenience and would much prefer a switch mounted near the transom or a
switch on the remote itself to disable it.
