Here's a repost from last year with some details that should be helpful -

Hi folks,

Time to remind everyone what the rules are for attaching files to e-
mails going out on the Rhodes22 mailing list:

1) Attachment size is limited to 5Mb.  However, some attachment types
actually increase in size when encoded for e-mail delivery, so if you
know your attachment it close to the 5Mb size limit, but still does
not appear in list mail, try reducing its size a little more.

2) File types permitted are: most image, video, and audio formats,
plain text, PDF.  Attachments are filtered by MIME type, which means
the file extension is less important.  However, some readers may not
be able to open files with oddly spelled extensions.  It's best to
keep it simple:
	- use all lower case filenames
	- avoid punctuation characters or spaces in filenames
	- use three character file extensions (e.g.  .jpg, .pdf, .mp3, .wmv)

3) The vast majority of attachments are either photos in JPEG format
or documents in PDF format.  If you wish to post a different type of
file to the list, convert it to PDF first.  This is almost universally
readable and offers the most flexibility.  If you don't know how to
convert to a PDF, you can use this free online service -http://www.pdfonline.com/convert-pdf/
There is a 2Mb file size limit for the free service, but that will
cover most needs.
