You can purchase a new tiller from General Boats. It will have a thin coat
of varnish and you will want to sand and give it several coats of varnish.
I have found six or seven coats will last many years.

Before you go to the trouble to make a tiller, you might want to take a
look at manufactured ones. As usual, you can probably find them cheaper than
at West Marine. I believe someone on this list bought one, not sure exactly

Thanks for the picture Rob. The hull looks real good, is that the finished
bottom paint? Do you have the line to the dagger board replaced regularly?
There is a lot of value to me from the picture. The Rudder stick looks
longer than I have seen before. I was going to make a new one for mine.
What length and material do you recommend? I was thinking about a piece
of a LAM (laminated beam) custom cut and fit to the rudder?
