Hi Charles,
In addition to everything Slim mentioned, there is also a really nice
Aquarium and a very interesting Museum of Visionary Art within
walking distance of the Inner Harbor. And Camden Yards is a great
ball park and an easy stroll up the hill from the harbor. The water
taxi system is extensive and can get you to Fells Point (restaurants
and shops) and Fort McHenry. Don't know about places to stay because
we always went by boat and stayed at the Inner Harbor. Haven't done
that for a few years. It got kind of pricey.
Not sure about getting away from the heat. This afternoon it was
100.2 and very humid. I expect Baltimore was hotter. Maybe by
mid-August it will be cooler. August isn't the
Will you have a car? We are nearly 2 hours from Baltimore by car -
about 4-5 hours by boat (mostly motoring). It's 12 miles from Rock
Hall to the mouth of the Patapsco and another 12 up the river to the
Inner Harbor.
