[Rhodes22-list] Where's the holding tank?

Hey Peter,
I lost a number of emails and address and other stuff when I had a virus
problem a while back. So yes indeed, I'm back. You know I missed your name
choice. I highly approve. Now lets see, according to Odysseus Aeolia was
the goddess of windbags? Or wind in a bag or something. Grin. A fitting
name! When is delivery? And you must send some pictures!
Chris

Good to hear from you, Chris. As you see, I finally settled on a name for
the boat, a Greek one.
I was concerned about smell, too, though a friend put a BIG composting waste
system in his house in VT and that's absolutely odorless.
I've read all the owner reviews for Airhead and Nature's Head, as well as a
2002 Practical Sailor article. No one seems to have had an odor problem, or
only a faint one at start up.
How's the new ice box working out?

Hey Peter,
Sounds like a neat Idea! You must be flushed with excitement (sorry
couldn't help myself) I haven't heard of anyone doing this but the logic is
there, would there be an odor problem?

Can someone tell me where the holding tank for the marine toilet is located?
I'd like to try to substitute an Airhead composting toilet for the standard
marine head in the R22-in-progress. Advantages: no water required, no
holding tank, macerater, Y-value, thru-deck or thru-hull openings (except
for a mushroom vent). Toilet paper isn't just ok, it's a plus. No need to
find pump-out stations or empty the porta-potty, & you end up with free
fertilizer for the flower garden.
Figuring out if or how it might be done is up to Stan, who says "We'll try
anything once." But I'd still like to apply my head to the problem--if it is
a problem. The main difficulty will probably be the height of the unit:
about 18" with the lid up (and everyone has to sit to pee with the Airhead).
Has anyone ever tried to make this modification?
