Hi John,
We just finished a discussion on this topic:
Mast Step Popped, Sep 11, 2011
http://old.nabble.com/Mast-Step-Popped-tt32444069.html#a32456539
"While setting our mast at a local lake the mast step popped
off with the screws somewhat stripped. We reset it and raised
it carefully figuring that the weight would help hold it... "
and another some time ago:
Re: Mast Tabernacle Repair, Feb 27, 2007
http://old.nabble.com/Re%3A-Mast-Tabernacle-Repair-tt9195028.html#a9195028
and yet, an older version:
Dislodged mast base plate, Jul 11, 2003
http://www.rhodes22.org/pipermail/rhodes22-list/2003-July/009024.html
The repairs are well documented in these discussions.

Subject: [Rhodes22-list] Dropping the Mast
1990 Rhodes--never re-furbished.
I need a little help from my fellow Rhodes owners.
Today, I dropped the mast. When doing so, the plate the the mast fits in
pulled out with the mast. It appears that the plate hast three screws.
How do i fix this before raising the mast next spring? Do I use larger
screws? Do I try bolts? I have not seen this issue before and do not
understand why it happened.
Responses are very welcome.
Thank you fellow Rhoadies.
John
