Dang! I can't open the attachments. Does anyone know how?
There are a lot of pithy sayings: "A ship is safe in harbor, but that is not what ships were built for"; "Nothing ventured, nothing gained"; "What doesn't kill you will make you stronger"; etc. etc. I think they all apply to sailing adventures. I hadn't intended to go to the Bahamas when I did, but opportunity knocked and the stars aligned. Looking back, had I not gone then I would still be dreaming about it. In fact, I am dreaming about going back and most surely intend to. But... the secret to success is in the planning and a keen eye to the weather.
I eagerly await being able to read about your Rhodes adventure!

I am finally getting around to writing about my family's adventure in May,
before the critics (both literary and seamanship) throw me to the dogs, take
into account that I have learned many lessons on this trip, would do MANY
things different, and have a whole new respect for the accounts it has been
my privilege to read. That being said, I have come to realize that if we
wait till we know we are completely ready for things before we do them, we
would never get married, never have kids, never do much at all. So if you
could, let that statement temper your opinion if you can.
This is the first two days on the water, we came from Arkansas to Miami,
which I have chosen to maybe write about at a later date.
I have patterned this after Bill Ws accout (with permission) will send in
pdf form as soon as I get them done.
