[Rhodes22-list] Rudder Questions

Bill, it is hard to see the details of your rudder in the photo but it looks
real similar to my "74 .  It looks like some minor repair and a new tiller
would make it pretty serviceable.  Maybe some fiberglass repair would be
helpful?  I also need a new tiller on mine that will either come from
Hamilton Marine or I will build one from a piece of laminated beam that is
close to the same dimension.

Subject: [Rhodes22-list] Rudder Questions

I am considering rebuilding the rudder to my 1980 Rhodes.  Attached  
are a few photos.  We bought the boat less than a year ago from a  
gentleman in NC who had her for only a year himself, so I don't know  
much of her history.
My questions are:
1.  Does this look like a factory original?
2.  Does a factory rudder have a fiberglass skin on the inside of the  
two side panel?
3.  I am considering replacing the outer panels with Mahogany marine  
grade plywood. Would I need this fiberglass surface?
4.  Does anyone recognize this rudder?
