Dennis,

Blue is also the most popular on Rhodes and most other boats that aren't
white.

Reference Rob's photos and your question, the top part of the hatch simply
lays against the top part of the bulkhead.  The poptop cover slides over the
top.

Some people store the hatch inside the cabin.  If you can get it to fit a
good place is right inside the cabin next to the cooler.

I store mine on the port side next to the bulkhead under the cockpit seat. 
The previous owner put some brackets down there that keeps it from sliding
around.
