[Rhodes22-list] Interior finish

This is really valuable info & advice on a subject I know nothing about, but as a poet I'm always happy to encounter new words like "cyanoacrylates."

Since I'll be doing this (most likely) while the boat on a lift over salt water in Florida, awlbrite is out. I'll probably use Helmsman, as you suggest.

(Or teak oil, I guess, if I can find out more about it the product Geoff Farrell used. I've used teak oil varnish on furniture and repaired the finish on teak furniture with the oil itself, but that's as far as my knowledge goes.)

Thanks!

I have not used the awlbrite brand and thus may have no idea what im talking about.....but i have used a lot of acrylic products and when they react with moisture they tend to blush and create microbubbles within the finish. This doesnt fully resolve with drying.....Ok, i looked up awlbrite and edumacated myself a bit. The chemistry is newer and for my simple brain, combines the properties of epoxy and cyanoacrylates. It is a three part acrylic. Mop and glow on steroids! It will be extremely sensitive to humidity during application and for about a week afterwards. After this you will likely be ok. The finish if applied perfectly will ne spectacular! If not will be hazy or even white. Good luck and let me know how it goes.
