[Rhodes22-list] Trailering question

Ditto here. With the older boat I always pulled motor and rudder when trailering which meant I had to take two vehicles. One to tow and the pickup to carry. With the new boat the PO said he always trailered with both in place. So I tried it and it works just fine. Rummy's note about weight placement on the trailer is the key. I also use a line under the cavatation plates run to the rear cleats. - rob

I trailer my boat many miles and always leave the motor and the rudder attached. I just use a heavy rubber bungee to attach the motor to the stern rail (in the unlikely event that the cleat on the motor lift fails) and leave it in the up position. Although it would probably be OK in the down position too. The extra weight on the stern will have to be offset by making sure the boat is pulled all the way forward on the trailer if it is a single axle trailer.BK > From: R22RumRunner at aol.com
