On "Raven", an 88 rhodes, there is an access to the hull in the V birth. We open the access and there is a
void in the foam where through hull transducers can be mounted. I would avoid the stern area. Water washing
past the keel creates turbulents and when these turbulents pass over the cockpit drain it continually siphons
air through the drain with it. For accurate readings the last thing you want is hundreds of air bubbles passing
over your transducer.
