Speaking of water tanks. I have one that came out of my old 76. No fittings or anything. I was going to get rid of it, but it someone wants it, pay the shipping and I'll send it to you. I can take a photo if needed. - rob

Subject: Re: [Rhodes22-list] Water Tank
We added an access port with a screw cap to the top of our water tank.
Fred thinks he may have gotten the fitting at the hardware store but West Marine or Defender might have something. Ours is PVC.
Fred used a hole saw to cut a hole in the top of the tank and then probably used our hand held manual bilge pump to get the water out (inexpensive at WM), Let it dry & fished plastic chips out with the vacuum. Sealed the new port (which was wide enough to easily fit the handheld bilge pump) with 5200. Works fine.
Makes it easy to keep the water tank full which adds more weight to the bow (boat sails well with more weight in the bow) and easy to pump out at the end of the season.
We also replaced the electric pump at the sink with a hand pump and then put a foot pump in line. We used flexible tubing for the water line so we can stow the foot pump in the cupboard under the sink and just set the foot pump out on the cabin sole for use.
