That's generally true. A good rule of thumb is that the jib sheet
should bisect the angle of the clew of the sail, Many genoas have
a bit of webbing sewn into them so that you can line it up. If you
look at John's photos you can see the white stripe on the clew of the
sail. Generally the sheet should make a continuous line with the line
on the sail.
