I hard wired mine into a breaker and added a second battery and 14w solar 
panel.  The panel does not keep up if I run the chiller for hours, but it 
works very well as an insulated cooler with a few freezer packs.  Try to add 
items that are already cold to make it easier for the chiller.

You can find the 12 volt Coleman Coolers on Ebay and Amazon at good prices.

I have not installed mine yet.  It will replace the aging icebox, 1989
vintage.  I plan on plugging it up here and there to keep things cool as my
outboard charges my battery back up.  An hour here and there should do it.
We also carry a cooler with ice and drinks in warmer months and mainly use
the icebox for food and open it only once or twice a day.
