Wow!  Some tale.  Glad you survived with little damage.  Hurricanes are our issue in FL.  One year we did not heed the unpredictable nature of one that did a quick 90 degree turn and head for the east coast of FL from the west coast.  All we could do was double and triple the lines and hope for the best.  Our biggest problem were boat owners who were clueless on the necessity of keeping their dock lines in shape.  Spent several hours retying boat lines and stowing loose gear.  Only had a couple of boats that suffered damage but the planks along the dock took a big hit as the storm surge caused them to break loose.  Lesson learned, cleats on dock planks are only for fair weather.  If a storm is coming use the pilings and hope that they are sound.
