[Rhodes22-list] beware marine biologists buying gifts

When my son was selling his boat in Greece a couple of years ago, a Marine
Biologist wanted to buy his boat.  The syntax and tone were not quite right,
too "Nigerian" for me.  Not to mention they needed my Pay Pal info so they
could send the money so they could buy the boat for a gift. The name given
was a real Marine Biologist whom we contacted a while later and he was
clueless about the whole transaction.  Why not have some fun, string 'em
along, get them to give you their Pay Pal info.  Email them a picture of the
boat.  My son took a picture of the "boat" and sent it to them, oddly it
looked just like a single finger salute.

Funny thing happened after I posted it on craigs list.  I got an email 
from a marine biologist named Cheryl wanting to buy our boat for her dad 
and wanted to pay for it via paypal.  Her message didn't quite sound 
right and so I decided to wait a while before replying.  Lo and behold, 
I got another message from  another marine biologist named Ted who 
wanted to buy our boat for a gift for his dad and wanted to  pay via 
paypal  because he was "on sea" just like Cheryl.  I wonder how many 
more marine biologists there are who need a gift for their dad?
