[Rhodes22-list] Replacing the wire in the mast

I would like to suggest a different approch to your project. Two lights
can be be controlled by 2 wires if you add a diode for each light. A diode
only lets voltage flow in one direction. If you control the lights with a
double pole /double throw switch, wired correctly,you can reverse the
polarity,lighting one light at a time off the same two wires.
That said,LED lights are diodes so your new anchor light is already cool
for this set-up. I would suggest you buy a new LED steaming light, also.
Not only for the diode,but ,also your steaming light is,most likely as old
as your boat,and electricial connection problems are bound to start
appearing before long,and stock light bulbs burn out,not so much with
LEDs.Not to mention, it's a long way up there to chang a bulb or clean up
corrosion where the bulb plugs in. 900% reduction in wattage used is a big
factor in my mind.

into more detail.
