Agree, I would not use bleach.  Borax (spelling?) is a good choice for cleaning the sails and might attack the mildew.  If not, West Marine or any marine supply store should have a cleaner specifically made to get the mildew off.

I would try to avoid bleach on the red canvass as fading is inevitable. The Dacron sail is impervious to bleach. I would lay the sail out & use a 50/50 mix applied w a rag directly to the moldy areas. Rinse w water & wash w soap & water.
