Yea weird huh? I Didnt mean to be a smarty. Well hopefully you can get it repaired maybe under warranty. I used to visit a park where the benches were made of recycled plastic lumber. The first few years were fine then the stuff started bowing and powdering. Left nasty stuff on your clothes that looked like mold.
Plastics are unpredictable.
