I understand the concept of your reply but I'm not sure I know what a half
steel ring is.Can you explain that a little more. The replacement line is
the same diameter of the old one. Thanks

To keep the jib furling line from riding up above the drum go to a hardware
store and buy a half circle steel ring and a hose clamp. Clamp the half ring
to the bow pulpit close to the deck below the top flange of the drum. Run
the line through the ring and then back through its regular leads. The lower
angle will keep it on the drum. Also you cannot have such a thick line that
it makes the drum too full.
