[Rhodes22-list] ROLLER FURLING CABLE BROKEN

Assuming it's just benignly sitting in the water it ought to be
ok. If you expect heavy weather or it is in a place where it rocks
and rolls a lot, you might want to give it some extra support. You
could run a line from a shackle at the tang where the forestay
attaches up around the mast above the spreaders or use your topping
lift if it runs through a sheeve at the masthead (and support your
boom some other way). We have a spare halyard and have used it as a
belt and suspenders extra support when doing work on the forestay in the slip.
Best,
Mary Lou
