[Rhodes22-list] How to lock rudder pintles?

So on my new 77 at launch for first time yesterday I noticed there is no hole
in rudder pintle for a cotter pin. It looks like there is a flat section
that I might be able to clamp. Anyone have this old setup? Wouldn't want my
rudder going bump to the bottom of the lake at least not in the deep part.
