The sailing is wonderful
Steady winds
Lots of cool places to go
Easy access to Atlantic if I am crazy enough ( haven't yet)
I grew up on the north shore of LI where the water was thick (deep) and the
winds were thin
Down on the south shore the exact opposite
I also crew on a C and C 29 and race every Thursday and we have never had a
problem even with the fixed keel
The center board on the Rhodes allows us to sail close enough to Fire Island
to anchor the boat and WALK ashore for dinner
quite nice

Hey Dave. I used to live in Babylon and spent my summers clamming on GSB.
As I remember, we used to sell a bushel of little necks for about $13. Big
money for a kid then.

As I remember, GSB was fairly shallow. How is the sailing there? Geoff
