Rob,
I can not remember if there are three or four blocks on the forward end. I think there are two on the c/b and two on the bottom of that small piece of wood. On my old boat there was not a block but a small crossbar where the line turned up into the hose leading to the cockpit. It would be a challenging task to replace that crossbar. But it can be done.

Thanks Graham
I think Todd figured it out. I have an early '73 Rhodes and the board
trunk did not have caps then. The board is removed from underneath the
boat. That is how I got mine out so this makes sense. I had a SS pin
running through the keel that the board pivots on. I pulled the pin and
the board slipped right out (of the bottom).
I'm saving your dimensions to my hard drive. I think when I rebuild the
interior, I'm going to set it up so that I can access the board from inside
the boat. It will make threading the lift line a lot safer and easier.
Thanks again,
the other Rob
