I had no idea that boats built prior to 75 had no cap and the board was installed from below.  The things you learn here! - rob

I think Todd figured it out.  I have an early '73 Rhodes and the board trunk did not have caps then.  The board is removed from underneath the boat.  That is how I got mine out so this makes sense.  I had a SS pin
running through the keel that the board pivots on.   I pulled the pin and
the board slipped right out (of the bottom).

I'm saving your dimensions to my hard drive.  I think when I rebuild the interior, I'm going to set it up so that I can access the board from inside the boat.  It will make threading the lift line a lot safer and easier.
