Rummy,

I hoist my glass to you and pray for your speedy recovery.  Make sure that
the docs prescribe Mt Gay rum as part of your recovery (aw come on, you can
lift a glass and it will be paid for by your 'script plan).

As you are now aware, AO did terrible things to the body, particularly the
heart, pancreas and liver.  And to think that they used to say that it
wouldn't hurt if you got it on your skin.  Some were even told that you
could drink it without harm!   The VA has stepped up and granted many
disability claims as a result of exposure.  Hopefully, you will never need
that extreme measure.

Be well and I look forward to hearing about how you trim your sails even if
you will miss trimming your tree this year.

I just wanted to let everyone on the list know that I will be out of
commission for a while. Monday I'm having heart bypass surgery. I will be in
the hospital recovering for about a week and then two months at home before
I can  even drive. The prognosis is good and I'm confident the procedure
will be  successful. My problems are both hereditary and exposure to agent
orange in  Vietnam. Hopefully the VA will step up and provide me with
extended medical  benefits in the future.
You all behave yourselves. I will probably be monitoring the list in the
hospital, but not able to respond.
