Clarification: Centerboard is left down when loading on to the trailer.  
It's a self guiding mechanism which centers the hull perfectly on the  
trailer. Remember to cleat it off prior to dunking back into the water.

Ouch! A  lesson learned the hard way!
The centerboard needs to be cleated in the up  position every time its not
used, unless your slip is in deep, non-tidal  water. Def when loading or
unloading from the trailer.
